Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer PW181000AV Reviews

By Jim Bodean – Wisconsin

After thorough online research, I bought this model, mainly to clean my deck to prep for restaining two years ago. It did a great job at that. I’ve also used it to wash the siding on my two story house. It does a fine job on the first level, but mainly just rinses off the second level.

This summer I got it out and started washing the house again. I got about half the job done with no problem. When I went to replug in a new location, the motor wouldn’t work. I went through all the troubleshooting steps with no luck. I let it sit for a few days to see if it was overheated — no luck. I knew my warranty was up, but I called CH to see if they had any advice. They basically said that no one will even repair electric washers anymore. So I guess it’s toast.

Even though I’m opposed to the smell, noise, etc., I think I’m going to go the gas route this time. Not only because of my lack of faith in electric pressure washers, but mainly because I need more PSI to do a better job on my siding.

I’m also not sure a gas machine will be much more difficult to move even though they weigh more. The wheels on this machine work fine on a deck, but not really in a yard. It’s also very heavy to lift (about 50 lbs.) and the cord is cumbersome to work around also since you have three to deal with — wand, hose, and electric — something to consider in making your purchasing decision.

The bottom line is that I got good years out of it — which is more than some of the other reviewers, but I guess I expected much more.

Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer PW181000AV Review By K Lawrence

I used a neighbor’s pressure washer about a month ago and fell in love with the concept. My neighbor had a gas powered 2850psi unit which REALLY did a job!!!!! I didn’t want to pay as much for one so, I researched around and found the CH to be adequate for a lot less. Well, to make a long story short….it isn’t close !!

If you want to wash the car, clean gutters and light duty stuff like that, it is OK. Now, when I say wash cars, I mean that you STILL have to have a pail and brush to wash it. SO, I guess I mean you can use the CH to get the car wet and rinse it.

I use the detergent tank for dispensing a wax that makes the car look nice. Make sure to dilute the wax first!!

Another thing that prompted me to buy this one is that it is Made in the U.S.A. Kinda disappointed on that one. Everything is so-so until it comes to the hose. Now I can see why people buy imported stuff.

Why make a quasi nice machine and put such a cheap hose on it. I hate using it because you have to fight with the hose from kinking and twisting every which way. Why can’t an American company make something they can be proud of??

All-in-all, buy the better machine systems, you will be glad you did. I wish now that I had.

Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer Reviews

By E. J. Evans – Media United States

This Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer was our second power washer. Our first was much more powerful (1750 psi). It had the ability to strip the paint off the deck. It actually was much too powerful for the kinds of jobs we needed. We were very happy with the new Campbell Haufeld 1300 pressure washer. It had enough power to clean the deck and lawn furniture easily. It is light and compact and much easier to use and store. I would have given this product 5 stars – but the auto detail kit was really not worth much. The pressure washer itself was a great deal!

After 10 years of muck, grime and mold on my patio bricks, I bought this machine based on the reviews. I was delighted to restore my bricks to their original “orchard” color. This machine works great. We cleaned the siding on the houses as well back to pristine white. I recommend this machine and think it is a wonder, especially for the price. There are so many uses for it but we are thrilled that our patio looks brand new.

By D. Rojas – Arthur City United States

I pudchased this campbell hausfeld pressure washer for my mobile detailing business along with a 25 foot extension hose (bought elsewhere) and it works wonderfully. We use it with gravity flow from a tank positioned in a trailer. Like the other guy said, you have to connect the water already running to the pressure washer to get maximum pressure, but it works great! Especially for the price. I had been told everywhere else that I needed a much stronger pressure washer to use gravity flow, but that is not the case. I would recommend this to anybody for washing cars. We are even thinking to buy a second one for a backup (just in case).

PW1805 Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer Reviews

By Margo – California

I only purchased this campbell hausfeld pressure washer 48 hrs. ago but already I am making it work hard and it hasn’t let me down! I’m a painting contractor and although I own a bigger gas powered hydroblaster, I wanted something to use while my partner was blasting the heavier stuff like deck floors. I figured I could just clean rails and pickets. This machine does a fantastic job on them and more, it surprisingly tackles even the heavier work, but… and this is the part I love…it doesn’t gouge the wood as easily as the bigger units. It is easy to operate, light weight, well designed. It comes with two wands, an adjustable fan spray and a turbo nozzle….the turbo is my favorite….aggressive cleaning without gouging. The fan spray is a twist adjustment…no stopping to change tips. I’ve owned Karcher’s and they were ok but didn’t last long. This is a superior unit and if it keeps on working it will be worth every penny. If it dies I’ll be back to amend this review.

Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washer Review By Omar Siddique – Ellicott City USA

After borrowing my friends’ washer all the time I decided I needed my own, but didn’t want to outlay too much money for something I’d only use once or twice a year. Also my requirements needed an electric model so as to minimize maintenance. The many models of Karcher  seemed to consistently get negative reviews, so I gave this new model (which had no reviews at the time) a shot instead. So far, so good, after a few hours use. No leaks, no problems.

Well, to this stage, I’ve washed various plastics (birdbath, recycle bin), brickwork, concrete sidewalks/porches, doormats, and concrete garage floor with the adjustable “fan” wand. Things seemed to clean off well, but the grime (about 3 years worth) on the sidewalk required a very slow close-up pass, followed by a second pass to focus on spots where mold was stubbornly clinging to the concrete. And after all that, the front walk looks like new! But the process was slow enough that I don’t think this would be a good choice if your livelihood depending on the machine. But for my infrequent usage, it’s fine.

The campbell hausfeld pressure washer has lots of power, and it’s worth heeding the manual’s warning to test a small area first (and adjust the spray pattern); I noticed that in the process of getting the dirt off my garage floor, the cleaned-area’s formerly very smooth concrete now had a slight but noticeable rough texture (by touch or eye).
The range is good; I was able to clean siding/gutters about 10 feet away, with the “fan” wand turned to its narrowest setting. But it wasn’t able to clean the 2nd floor’s siding (about 15 feet up).

There are some nice safety features over the last model I used, including a GFCI reset on the A/C adapter, and a recessed/sealed power switch. One less-pleasing safety-feature is the trigger, which has to be held closed the whole time you’re washing– it takes a fair amount of tension to hold, and my hands notice the effort after 30-60 minutes use. This may also make this unit more suitable for home-use than for the pro who’s washing all day long. There’s a modest level of vibration through the pressure-hose and handle, which adds to the hand fatigue after extended usage.

Instructions are minimal, and don’t discuss assembling the various plastic bits. But, I think they can safely assume anybody who wants to use a campbell hausfeld pressure washer has some degree of mechanical aptitude (or is willing to figure it out, at least). And being electric, there’s no-muss no-fuss with gas or oil or draining things for storage…or the heavy environmental exhaust footprint of small engines.

By Blasting Away – Olney USA

I have never used or owned a campbell hausfeld pressure washer before I bought this one a few days ago to wash my house and I have been pleasantly surprised at this little guys performance. I am cheap by nature and was unwilling to spend $400 or $500 for a so called good machine. When in doubt, go cheap! I used this one for about 8 hours yesterday without any issues whatsoever, it’s fairly quiet and easy to move around. I cleaned all of the decks and porches and siding on my entire two story home. By using the variable adjustment on the lance I was able to dial in the right setting to easily blast away some serious green algae, spider droppings and plain old dirt. I got the first 8-10′ of elevation while standing on the ground and then used an extension ladder to get upper portions of the house.

The auto stop start feature works well, if you are not familiar with it, the electric pump turns off when you stop spraying and then kicks back on when you squeeze the trigger thus saving wear and tear on the unit and saving electricity as well. This unit comes with a small soap dispenser attachment that I have not used yet simply because it works well with just water and I didn’t want to soap up my plants and shrubbery. I also used this to make some grubby old plastic lawn chairs look remarkably new.

One perplexing thing is there are no assembly instructions at all, even with the lack of direction I was able to have it assmbled in about 15 minutes.

All in all this is a great value for use at cleaning siding and lawn furniture. I don’t think it would have enough power to thoroughly blast old paint from wood in preparation for painting.

I’d recommend this pw1805 campbell hausfeld pressure washer as a decent, economical unit to have around the house for the occasional cleaning project. You can’t go wrong for this price.
